Deliverance Outreach Church was organized at the home of Rev. Johnnie Thompson in Paterson, NJ. Deliverance Outreach Church was organized under the covenant as a non-denominational church for fellowship by baptized believers, confessing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior under the Nicene Creed. Rev. Thompson an ordained minister and his spouse Annie, son
Jermaine, two daughters Ivory and Jennifer along with seven neighborhood children, Kadeen, Annie, Shameka, Frank, Crystal, Kyra, Davis and Melissa stepped out in faith and established Deliverance Outreach Church on September 7, 19997.Our first worship service and Bible Study was held at the home of Rev. Thompson, on September 14, 1997 with 15 members. The Lord was soon to show his mighty power by providing a place of worship at Inglesia Evangelica Reformada Church on the 21st day of September 1997. Deliverance maintained that place of worship for 11 months in which time the church was incorporated on May 5, 1998 as Deliverance Outreach Church, under the leadership of Rev. Johnnie Thompson, pastor and founder.
Rev. Thompson was accepted and established as pastor by a unanimous vote of all adult members in attendance on January
7, 1998. In the eleven month period, God saw fit to bless our growth to a membership of fifteen to twenty members every Sunday with a Wednesday night prayer and Bible Study.On October 25, 1998 Deliverance Outreach Church moved its worship service to Star Of Hope Mission at 34 Broadway in the city of Paterson, NJ. Thanks be to God that after 6 months we needed a larger facility to worship in, growing from 15 to 30 members.
God has continued to shower blessings by leading us to a larger sanctuary, at madison Park Epworth United Methodist Church, located at 66 Bloomfield Ave., Paterson, NJ on May 2, 1999 where we are presently worshiping.
